Welcome to Partners in Collaboration!!!!

“Collaboration is an ongoing process whereby educators with different areas of expertise voluntarily work together to create solutions to problems that are impeding students’ success, as well as to carefully monitor and refine those solutions. . . Collaboration is a process rather than a specific service delivery model.”

(Knackendoffel, Robinson, Deshler, & Schumacker 1992, as cited in Parrott, P. 2010, Univeristy of Richmond)

This site is dedicated to enhance the school-wide collaboration among general and special educators.  As a classroom teacher, I offer a practical list of ideas and strategies to enrich the educational experience of ALL students within the classroom.  Overall, this site is intended to promote communication between educators and to increase the efficiency by which decisions are made about student learning.

This site provides viewers access to a vast array of information, resources, and links about teaching and supporting students with and without special needs.  Although collaboration does not necessarily occur within this site, my hope is that this site will provide educators with the tools to actively engage in collaborative activities at their schools.  This site is therefore intended to encourage open dialogue with school professionals in making decisions about students.
