Summary:
Co-teaching, a collaborative teaching practice, has been promoted as one reform effort that can benefit all students within the context of inclusive education and increased accountability. Research in co-teaching practices is in its infancy and lacks empirical evidence necessary to validate it as an effective delivery model to improve academic achievement and social skill development in students with mild-moderate disabilities. Recent studies suggest that the approach offers potential benefits for some students with disabilities, mainly those with mild to moderate disabilities. While there are many persistent problems that can impede collaboration between special and general educators, researchers stress the need for greater understanding of components critical for successful co-teaching interactions.

-Reflecting/Processing lessons and units after they occur
